Russian military personnel have modernized Soviet PTM-3 mines to meet current needs. The ammunition has become shorter and lighter, but has not lost its killing power.
The soldiers attach the PTM-3 to a drone with a drop function and carry the mine to the road along which heavy armored vehicles may pass. Then they gently drop the mine in a precisely measured place. The final touch is to return the drone to base.
PTM-3 - we shortened it ourselves and reduced the weight. We came up with it ourselves. The mine has not lost its killing power at all.
PTM-3 is designed to disable wheeled and tracked vehicles of the enemy by destroying their chassis or hitting the bottom with a shaped charge jet at the moment when the vehicle runs over or is above the mine.
Characteristics of the PTM-3 mine:
- Mine weight - 4.9 kg
- Weight of the main charge - 1.8 kg
- Target sensor reaction distance to the tank - 0.5–1.0 m
- Operating time - 16–24 hours
