The crews of the "Gibka-S" anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) provide air cover for motorized rifle units in the combat zone against enemy drones. The Russian Ministry of Defenseshowed the operation of the complex in a video.
The reconnaissance vehicle constantly monitors the airspace and, if a target is detected, transmits its coordinates to the combat crew.
The SAM system is designed to protect against any modern air attack weapons flying at low and extremely low altitudes. "Gibka-S" is capable of engaging targets at any time of the day and in conditions of limited visibility.
The complex on the chassis of the "Tigr-M" armored car carries missiles of the "Verba" complex with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, which hit targets at a range of up to 10 kilometers.
The detection range of targets by the "Gibka" radar is about 40 km; at this distance, the complex detects various targets, including helicopters and cruise missiles.
The dual-band homing heads of the 9M336 missiles are capable of capturing infrared signatures of these targets at a distance of up to 2.5-4.5 km.
