The pilot operation of the world's first automated station for unmanned helicopters has started in St. Petersburg. The development was carried out by the companies "Rusdronoport" and "Radar MMS". A unique feature of this heliport is the possibility of fully autonomous launch - reception and maintenance of drones without human intervention.
The station is adapted to work with the VT 30E drone, which is capable of lifting cargo weighing up to 7 kg, covering a distance of 40 kilometers and developing a cruising speed of up to 55 km/h. In the future, the station will be able to receive other domestic drones weighing up to 30 kilograms.
Experts predict that the introduction of heliports will allow large companies to save tens of millions of rubles annually. The technology has already attracted the attention of customers from the Middle East.
