Footage of the racing version of the Lada Iskra sedan in two colors has appeared online. The cars were demonstrated at the 27th Race of Champions, which takes place at the AvtoVAZ test site in Sosnovka.
The Iskra modification was developed for racing in compliance with all the principles of preparing cars for sports competitions on ice. The body is equipped with a welded safety cage and lightened.
The suspension has stiffer springs compared to the regular Iskra, special shock absorbers, and spherical hinges are used in the shock absorber mounts and suspension arms instead of silent blocks.
The front brakes remained standard from Iskra, the rear brakes are from Vesta, and the car received a new brake force distribution system.
The engine volume increased from 1.6 liters to 1.8 liters due to the use of an original crankshaft, which increased the piston stroke. Thanks to this, the car's power increased to 173 hp.
