Designers of the Kalashnikov arms concern have developed and certified the MR-653K pneumatic gas-cylinder pistol. The new product was created on the basis of the Lebedev pistol, and its appearance is as close as possible to the combat version.
4.5-mm spherical steel bullets are used for firing. The MR-653K pistol is equipped with a removable barrel extension, which ensures a muzzle energy of no more than 7.5 J. Without the barrel extension, the pistol is similar to the combat model in terms of weight and dimensions.
In the pneumatic pistol, the trigger mechanism is equipped with a hammer with a self-cocking function, which ensures the production of several shots in a row without cocking the slide. To protect against dry firing when the slide is removed, self-cocking firing is impossible.
The MR-653K uses a standard 13-round magazine from the MR-654K pistol with minor changes. The magazine is installed in the body of the Lebedev pistol magazine and secured with a cover.
