An innovative chip for early diagnosis of oncological diseases has been developed at the "Krasnoyarsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences". This is reported by the press service of the institution.
The new development was tested on a model culture of breast cancer cells.
Tumor cells began to stably attach to the surface covered with aptamers at a flow rate of less than 2 microliters per minute. They were held firmly enough and did not detach from the channel surface even when the flow rate increased to 200 microliters per minute.
The chip consists of two polymethylmethacrylate thermoplastic plates. It will allow diagnosing various oncological diseases at early stages by detecting cancer cells in the blood.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a new analysis for cancer markers was created in Moscow.
