State Duma deputies have created an inter-factional working group to prepare a bill that will regulate content in video games.
Deputies will develop a draft basic law "On activities for the development and distribution of video games on the territory of the Russian Federation." The commission includes Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy and heads of a number of specialized committees.
The bill was submitted to the State Duma in December 2024. The document provides for the introduction of mandatory labeling of video games, informing users about the presence of elements of cruelty, violence, obscene language and other destructive content.
According to the bill, a number of requirements will be imposed on distributors of video games. Distributors will be required to block Russians' access to information prohibited in the country.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the State Duma told how it will be possible to undergo identification on gaming services.
