In China, flushing of all safety systems of the reactor plant has begun at power unit No. 7 of the Tianwan NPP. This is one of the most important technological stages before the assembly of the VVER-1200 (water-water power reactor). This was reported by the press service of the state corporation "Rosatom", which participates in the project.
The flushing operation on the open reactor is necessary for the final cleaning of all pipelines from contamination remaining after installation, checking the operation of pumping units, technological safety systems and normal operation systems.
About the VVER-1200 reactor
This is the flagship reactor of GC "Rosatom". It was installed on six power units: four in Russia and two in Belarus.
In China, specialists of the state corporation are building four power units with VVER-1200: two at the Tianwan NPP and two at the Xudapu NPP. A similar reactor plant will operate in Bangladesh, Hungary, Egypt and Turkey.
