Engineers at the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) have completed the assembly and installation of four electric motors for the main circulation pump units (MCPUs) of power unit No. 1. This was reported by the Rosatom press service.
The weight of each electric motor is 58.3 tons, the diameter is 4 m, and the height is almost 6 m. The equipment will create circulation of demineralized water in the primary circuit and ensure heat removal from the reactor core.
According to the Rosatom press service, after the completion of the installation, the workers will begin piping the electric motors and conduct acceptance tests. Then they will proceed to hydraulic tests and flushing of the primary circuit of the reactor plant.
