"Yandex" has begun testing advertising in the responses of the "Neuro" AI service, adding advertising inserts for relevant user queries. Advertising with links to websites is displayed immediately after the main AI response.
The company confirmed that it is conducting testing on a small percentage of the audience to study the effectiveness of advertising message formats and test internal hypotheses. The main goal of the experiment is to explore monetization opportunities that will allow keeping the responses free for users.
"Yandex" reported that it is considering different approaches to developing the functionality of "Neuro". If the test results are successful, the company plans to officially announce the launch of advertising spaces in the AI service.
The "Neuro" service was launched in April 2024. In October of the same year, it was integrated into the "Yandex" search engine, providing "smart" answers to users.
