An important event took place at the Demikhovo Machine-Building Plant, located in the Orekhovo-Zuyevo district of the Moscow region: two anniversary cars immediately rolled off the assembly line. The plant celebrated the release of its 12,000th electric train car and the 500th car of the modern EP2DM model. These cars were included in trains No. 0305 and No. 0306, which began running on the Yaroslavl direction of the Moscow Railway.
The trains for this route received an updated look, which is noticeably different from the standard version of the EP2DM. The engineers redesigned the exterior paint and equipped the front part with additional LED lighting - this not only improves visibility, but also makes the train recognizable in the stream. The interior is made in a restrained gray-turquoise color scheme, and the ergonomic seats with soft upholstery are equipped with two types of USB connectors: Type-A and Type-C with support for accelerated charging. In the 11-car train, 850 passengers can be comfortably accommodated in the seats, and a well-thought-out handrail system is provided for those who are standing.
The developers paid special attention to the accessible environment and everyday amenities. In the head cars, there are special areas for passengers with limited mobility and bicycle parking with sockets for charging electric scooters. Toilet modules are equipped with contactless mixers, soap dispensers, electric hand dryers and folding changing tables - everything for comfort on the road.
The EP2DM model was created taking into account the wishes of passengers and operating organizations. The rolling stock is fully assembled from Russian components and is included in the register of industrial products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. At the end of 2025, 65 such trains already carry passengers in twelve regions of the country, with most of them operated by the Central Suburban Passenger Company. The first car of this model was released in October 2022, and the five hundredth - at the end of 2025, which confirms the demand for the platform.
