At the Tutaev Motor Plant, a subsidiary of KAMAZ in the Yaroslavl Region, preparations are underway to launch mass production of new TMZ V8 engines. Engines with a capacity of 370-465 hp with improved indicators affecting heat transfer, power density, and fuel consumption will be installed on Russian agricultural and other equipment.
We have manufactured a number of fundamentally new parts, as well as a new unit – a gearbox for transmitting torque from the engine to the fuel pump. There was no such gearbox on previous engine models, because a higher rotational speed is required for the fuel pump of an engine with a Common Rail system.
The new series of TMZ V8 engines includes two basic models:
- 8801.10 Progress engine with efficient Common Rail fuel equipment manufactured by the Altai Precision Products Plant and a new M240 electronic control unit (ECU). It received increased torque at low speeds, reduced heat generation, noise and vibration;
- 8483.10 Etalon engine with YAZDA fuel equipment and M230 ECU. It has a cast iron cylinder head, a modernized piston, and a poly-V belt drive for the units.
Both models have a high degree of unification with the currently produced 8481.10 series. During 2024, the Tutaev Motor Plant has already conducted a series of bench tests to refine the working process, adjust the electronic control system, and thermal tests of prototypes on the K-7M Kirovets tractor. After the tests, changes were made to the engine design, and now they are ready for production.
As noted at the enterprise, some of the new engines will be installed on a pilot batch of K-7M Kirovets tractors.
