The "Loaf" Effect, or Why Europeans Love the Old Soviet UAZ

The legendary Ulyanovsk SUV "Loaf" has always been very popular abroad. This was stated by Dmitry Schwab, the founder of the company Made in Russia, who was engaged in the sale of Russian cars in Europe.

According to Schwab, "Loaf" is an underestimated and unfinished car even in Russia. In terms of dimensions, the minivan surpasses the Volkswagen Multivan: there is more space in the cabin of the Soviet single-volume car. The advantage of UAZ is that you can sleep across it, which cannot be done in cars of the same class. In addition, "Loaf" has a special "charisma" and resembles VW T1.

According to the founder of Made in Russia, the European Union was ahead of its time in the development of the automotive industry, and modern cars have lost their uniqueness. Soviet models, such as "Loaf" or "Niva", cannot be confused with anything. That is why they aroused interest in all corners of Germany. According to Schwab, at some point there was a huge demand for UAZ products in Europe: from the moment the order was placed until the car was received, it took at least a year.

The Ulyanovsk car is distinguished by its simple design, which attracts the attention of technology enthusiasts from Germany. They "have fun" with "Loaf" in every possible way, because modern cars do not provide such opportunities for experiments.

For example, UAZ can be modified independently, turning it into a motorhome. Many owners prefer to improve the interior on their own, and in the case of "Loaf" it is not difficult. In addition, registration as a motorhome allows you to reduce tax payments.

Regarding the design of "Loaf", which is already outdated, its compliance with European standards was achieved by certifying the car as a category N1 truck.

Regardless of the version in which the SGR is presented - passenger or cargo, it remains an all-terrain vehicle capable of overcoming any obstacles. This car is characterized by high cross-country ability, versatility, unpretentiousness and at the same time has the simplest design.

"Loaf" is still afavorite car in Russia. It is used by the military because the car has high cross-country ability and is able to transport a large amount of cargo.

Recently, UAZ summed up the results of 2024, and it turned out that "Loaves" again became the most successful in sales. This model wasbought 14,813 times.
