Российский космонавт Горбунов сфотографировал пожары в Лос-Анджелесе с МКС

The picture shows the burned-out blocks

Russian cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov, who is on the International Space Station, took pictures of the fires that engulfed Los Angeles County in California.

The footage shows a panorama of the city, burned-out blocks and the glow of the fire. The pictures show that the elements are raging in the prestigious residential area of Pacific Palisades, which is located between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains.

Wildfires in the region began on January 7. The reason for their rapid spread was a combination of dry and windy weather. This led to about 400 thousand residents of California being left without electricity, and almost 180 thousand people received evacuation notices. According to the latest data, the deaths of 10 people have been confirmed. The fire destroyed more than 10 thousand buildings in the district.

The most destructive hotspots are in the Pacific Palisades area, where the fire has engulfed the coast from Malibu to Santa Monica. This fire destroyed more than 1,000 homes, including celebrity homes. Experts at AccuWeather estimated the damage from the fires in Los Angeles at between 52 and 57 billion dollars.
