MTS AI System: Fighting Deepfakes with 97.5% Accuracy

Deepfake technologies are becoming more accessible, leading to an increase in successful attacks in 2024

In 2024, fraud using deepfakes increased by 10%, due to improvements in the technologies used to create them. In response, Russian companies are developing tools to detect deepfakes and prohibited content.

A deepfake is a technology based on machine learning and artificial intelligence that allows you to overlay content fragments, replacing a face or voice in video and audio.

The MTS AI system accurately identifies face and voice replacements with 97.5% accuracy, and also recognizes images with prohibited elements. The service is designed for content moderation, verification of video conference participants, and prevention of fake requests on behalf of companies.

Deepfake technologies are becoming more accessible, which complicates their detection. In the financial sector, attacks using deepfakes reached 5.7 thousand in 2024, of which up to 20% were successful. However, demand for solutions remains limited due to insufficient awareness of the threat from businesses.
