In 2025, automakers will continue to delight Russians with new products, despite the projected decline in car sales. We tell you more about what they will try to surprise with.
LADA Iskra
The main novelty of 2025, likely, will be LADA Iskra. AvtoVAZ plans to start selling this car in March. The novelty should take a place between LADA Granta and LADA Vesta.
The sedan will be 65 mm longer than Granta and 107 mm shorter than Vesta. There are also station wagon and Cross station wagon versions.
The basic 1.6-liter engine with 90 horsepower will only be available with a five-speed manual, while a more powerful engine (106 hp) can be selected with a six-speed manual or a CVT.
Model Updates
Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, which has not surprised with new products for a long time, announced the launch of UAZ "Profi" with a diesel engine and a six-speed manual. The car should appear in March 2025. In the fall, an updated "Patriot" SUV is expected, which will be available with both diesel and gasoline engines.
GAZ plant will also delight with new products. Thus, the "Gazelle NN" family will be replenished with an all-wheel drive version. The car's transmission is similar to that used in the all-wheel drive "Sobol".
For the first time, the "Gazelle NN" will be certified not in category M2 (buses), but in category M1 (passenger cars). This innovation will allow buyers to avoid the need to undergo technical inspection twice a year and install a tachograph, which is mandatory for seven-seater minibuses. Serial production of the all-wheel drive "Gazelle" will begin in the first quarter of this year.
New Horizons for Russian Brands
"Moskvich" postponed the start of sales of the new seven-seater crossover with index 8 to February 2025. In 2025, the "Kama" company will launch production of the "Atom" electric car with unique swing doors, as well as a steering wheel with a touchscreen display.
The Evolute brand continues to localize its electric vehicle range: welding and painting of cars will be produced at the plant in Lipetsk. In addition, the share of domestic components in cars will increase.
Thus, 2025 promises to be a busy year for new products, despite the economic challenges facing the industry.
