The long-awaited new product from AvtoVAZ - LADA Iskra - should become available for purchase in March of this year. While AvtoVAZ employees continue testing and finalizing the car, a former engineer of the company, the author of the KhaDm channel on YouTube, told subscribers about the new model.
The basic version of LADA Iskra will be equipped with a 90 hp engine in combination with a 5-speed manual gearbox, similar to the one used in LADA Granta. This configuration will allow the car to accelerate to 100 km/h in 12 seconds, and fuel consumption in urban conditions will be 8-9 liters of gasoline.
One step above will be the Iskra version with a 106 hp 16-valve engine and a new 6-speed WLY gearbox. According to KhaDm, this Chinese gearbox can improve the perception of the car, which makes it an interesting option. The blogger recommends paying attention to this version of "Iskra" after it appears at dealerships. Similar changes are also expected for LADA Vesta, which will also receive a new mechanics in the coming weeks.
In the top configuration, LADA Iskra will be offered with a 106-horsepower engine and a WLY variator, which is already used on LADA Vesta.
As for the suspension, the LADA Iskra will have a subframe with levers in the front. All trim levels include disc ventilated brakes. A semi-independent beam is installed at the rear, and the rear brakes will be drum brakes.
The basic version of Iskra will be equipped with 15-inch stamped wheels, while more expensive trim levels will receive 16-inch alloy wheels.
