In 11 months of 2024, Russians transferred 168 billion rubles to fraudsters. This was a consequence of the increase in the number of remote crimes.
A total of 702 thousand IT crimes were registered, which is 14.3% more compared to the same period in 2023. However, the growth rate of the number of frauds slowed down — from 44% in 2023 to 9.2% in 2024.
At the end of 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs warned of increased activity of fraudsters on the eve of the New Year holidays. According to Sberbank's estimates, the total damage from remote fraud in 2024 may reach 250 billion rubles.
