In the near future, the Russian Ministry of Defense plans to re-equip the Tatishchevo Missile Division with the silo-based "Yars" missile system. The re-equipment of the Strategic Missile Forces involves not only equipping the troops with new missile systems, but also creating social infrastructure with better conditions for servicemen.
The department noted that the re-equipment of the Kozelsk Missile Division with "Yars" will be completed in 2025. It became the first in the Strategic Missile Forces to be re-equipped with the new missile system.
The implementation of the planned measures for the re-equipment of units and military units of the Strategic Missile Forces made it possible to ensure that the share of modern missile weapons is at 88% and to give the Strategic Missile Forces group new capabilities to perform nuclear deterrence tasks.
The Ministry of Defense added that the Strategic Missile Forces ensure the guaranteed security of Russia, possessing the largest number of carriers in the country's strategic triad.
PC-24 "Yars" is a Russian strategic missile system with a solid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missile of mobile and silo basing with a multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle (MIRV). Developed by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology under the leadership of Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Solomonov. It is a modification of the missile of the "Topol-M" complex.
