Новые горизонты в онкологии: Россия и Китай объединяют усилия в создании препаратов

Sechenov University and Chinese partners are developing innovative cancer treatments using AI and immunotherapy

Sechenov University in Moscow, together with Chinese colleagues, is exploring new methods for treating cancer. This was announced by Marina Sekacheva, Director of the Institute of Personalized Oncology.

The goal of the collaboration is to attract more patients to clinical trials of new drugs and expand their use. The work is aimed at introducing personalized medicine. This will allow the development of new anticancer drugs, including immunotherapy. One of them is already used in China to treat nasopharyngeal, esophageal, and liver cancer. In 2025, it will become available in Russia as well.

This is the work that we are starting together with our Chinese colleagues with the aim of creating and implementing new immuno-oncological drugs that activate the body's own immune response.

In addition, Russian doctors are working with Chinese partners on using artificial intelligence to predict the effectiveness of immuno-oncological drugs. This will help make treatment safer, avoiding the prescription of drugs that will not be beneficial.
