The new terminal of Yelizovo International Airport in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky has undergone its first production testing of systems and equipment. More than 150 employees of the air harbor took part in it.
The purpose of the testing is to practice passenger service and baggage handling scenarios, and to check the interaction of airport services in the new airport complex.
Airport employees testing the terminal went through entry and pre-flight checks, checked in and boarded a flight, оформляли, packed and received their luggage — everything that passengers will do.
The new terminal at Kamchatka's main airport will officially begin operations in the spring of 2025. Its capacity will be 1,145 passengers per hour.
The area of the airport building is 50 thousand square meters. It will house a terminal for domestic and international flights, a hotel and a retail area.
Earlier www1.ru reported that modern domestic unmanned Piranha robotic platforms, equipped with Russian software, have appeared at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg. They can work continuously, with breaks for recharging every 8 hours. They are capable of towing up to 500 kilograms of cargo or transporting up to 300 kilograms.
