УКВЗ увеличил производство трамваев на 52% в 2024 году

The plant created two new models: the 71-639 "Kastor" single-sided tram and the 71-638-02 "Polaris" double-sided tram

Ust-Katav Wagon-Building Plant (UKVZ) summed up the results of 2024. Tram production increased by 1.5 times compared to last year. This was reported in the manufacturer's press service.

The new figure exceeded the initial UKVZ plan, which involved the production of 148 trams.

In 2024, Ust-Katav Wagon-Building Plant (UKVZ) also produced two new three-section tram models. The 71-639 "Kastor" single-sided tram was developed for Yekaterinburg, and the 71-638-02 "Polaris" double-sided tram — for St. Petersburg.

In addition, the "UKVZ-Service" branch began to provide services for the maintenance of the supplied rolling stock and its main components. This innovation will improve the operational characteristics of trams and increase the level of service.

It is worth noting that another large company, "PC Transport Systems," announced the production of 200 trams by the end of the year. According to Rosstat, from January to November, a total of 339 trams were produced in Russia, which is 44% more compared to the same period in 2023.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the first unmanned tram in Moscow passed testing.
