Analyst Marzhetsky: The GShG-7.62 Machine Gun and a Ballistic Computer Will Be Needed

To solve the problem with enemy strike drones on the front line, Russian engineers need to create a mobile anti-drone air defense system. This proposal was made by military expert Sergei Marzhetsky.

According to him, the complex can be developed on the basis of a mobile wheeled or tracked platform, installing on it an anti-aircraft turret from the GShG-7.62 machine gun, a ballistic computer, a compact radar, and an electronic optical box.

It could be used both to cover against air attacks and to support its own infantry with fire. If you also put an electronic warfare system on such a trolley, the effectiveness of interaction with the mobile anti-aircraft gun will significantly increase.

In the development of this concept, the machine gun can be replaced with anti-aircraft guns of 23 mm or 30 mm caliber, which can fire charges with a self-liquidator. Thanks to this, the coverage radius of such an anti-drone complex will increase.
