Российские РЛС «Воронеж-ДМ» заинтересовали Индию: обнаружат баллистические ракеты и даже истребители-невидимки

The deal may coincide with the delivery of S-400 systems

India intends to acquire Russian long-range radar systems "Voronezh-DM". The contract amount may reach more than 4 billion dollars, according to Military Watch Magazine.

According to the publication, India seeks to ensure the production of at least 60% of the radar components. The deal may coincide with the delivery of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems to the country.

"Voronezh-DM" is a radar with advanced over-the-horizon detection capabilities, capable of detecting targets at a distance of more than 6000 km. These systems detect launches of medium-range ballistic missiles and intercontinental ballistic missiles.

They also detect all types of aircraft, including bombers and stealth fighters. This may be of particular importance to India in the context of China increasing its fleet of fifth-generation J-20 fighters, and NATO aircraft carriers with stealth fighters on board periodically crossing the Indian Ocean.

It is likely that the "Voronezh-DM" will be deployed to cover the Indian Ocean, the western and northern borders of India. They could revolutionize the Indian Air Force's awareness of Western and other states' aviation activity in these areas, journalists noted.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia has begun developing a new generation aircraft.
