Colonel Matviychuk: Russian Avangard missile cannot be tracked in flight

The Russian Avangard missile cannot be tracked in flight; it is virtually invulnerable to all Western air defense systems, according to military expert Anatoly Matviychuk.

He explained that the Avangard, like the Oreshnik, has a gliding module that constantly changes its position in space during the task.

None of the existing anti-missile systems, including Patriot and IRIS-T, can calculate its movement. If it is impossible to calculate, then it is impossible to destroy. This is one of the most maneuverable munitions in Russia.

The Avangard warhead is capable of flying at hypersonic speeds of up to 27 Mach (about 32,000 km/h) in the dense layers of the atmosphere, maneuvering in course and altitude and overcoming any anti-missile defense. The unit was developed at NPO Mashinostroyenia.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that little-known technical details of the turbojet modification of the Russian superdrone have been revealed.
