In Russia, it was proposed to fix prices for Russian Railways tickets from December 20 to January 15. This proposal was made by the head of the "Fair Russia - For Truth" faction, Sergey Mironov, and State Duma deputy Yana Lantratova.
Government officials believe that a temporary suspension of dynamic pricing for railway tickets will help improve transport accessibility, allowing families to travel during the holidays.
According to VCIOM, for 44% of Russians, it remains the holiday that is traditionally celebrated with family. But the high cost of tickets and the use of a dynamic pricing mechanism, which leads to a sharp increase in the cost of travel, prevent the observance of this national tradition.
Deputies propose to establish a fixed fare relative to the average level. In addition, they propose to introduce a 100% discount on travel in suburban trains for full-time students from December 25 to January 10, as well as increase the discount on travel in compartment cars of long-distance trains to 50% for this period.
Oleg Belozerov, General Director of Russian Railways, supported this initiative, noting its high social significance. However, the initiative has not yet passed due to the lack of approval from the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia.
Earlier,www1.ru reported that Russian Railwayslaunched a Russian ticket booking system - "Express-NP".
