No noise and emissions: how the new electric garbage truck MAZ-692E55 works

Belarusian garbage truck will travel up to 170 km on a single charge

The characteristics of the new Belarusian electric garbage truck MAZ-692E55, which will be sold in Russia, have become known. It differs from its counterparts not only in environmental friendliness, but also in ergonomics. The garbage truck attracts attention with its cab with a large glazing area in combination with electronic mirror systems and side and rear view video cameras.

For the first time, the manufacturers showed it at the Urbantrans Moscow exhibition in November, but details about the power reserve and operation were not disclosed then.

The traction electric motor of the car produces a power of 150 kW (204 hp), it is powered by a battery with a capacity of 252 kWh. The range on one full charge is up to 170 km. The original cab is a frame-panel one. The "cage" is welded from steel pipes, the outer elements are molded from composites. The design is low-floor, which will reduce the fatigue of workers in frequent disembarkation and boarding mode.

Garbage trucks have a low noise level and no emissions, which will help them calmly serve residential areas of cities early in the morning. Also, their distinctive feature is a four-seater cab. This means that the driver of the MAZ-692E55 may no longer be involved in loading garbage.
