Scammers have come up with a new way to gain access to Russians' accounts on the "Gosuslugi" portal. They create fake help sites with fake "Gosuslugi" support numbers and promote them at the top of search engines.
Scammers also send SMS messages reporting an alleged failed login attempt or even an account hack. These mailings include a fake support number.
Experts warn that using fake portal support numbers can be dangerous. Scammers can convince users that they are actually talking to a specialist and force the victim to follow their instructions.
We are currently separated from the mass application of such schemes by the relatively high complexity of organizing large-scale SMS mailings, as well as the laboriousness and duration of search engine optimization of fake sites.
First of all, users must ensure their own safety: check the phone number listed on the "Gosuslugi" website and only use it in the future.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that more and more new types of fraud are appearing in Russia. One of them is imitating the hacking of an account on the "Gosuslugi" portal followed by "registration" of microloans. The goal of the attackers is to cause panic in the victim and force them to transfer money to a supposedly safe account.
