Исторический минимум: трафик YouTube в России упал до шокирующих 20% от нормального состояния

Experts attribute the record drop to increased platform blocking

Traffic on the YouTube video platform in Russia has collapsed to 20% of the usual average level recorded before August 2024.

The data is provided by specialized experts, based on Google statistics. The drop reached a record level today, indicating a tightening of restrictions on access to the service.

Russia is experiencing an intensified and systematic blocking of the platform. A particularly noticeable decrease in availability began in mid-December. If earlier restrictions mainly concerned desktop versions, now the blocking has extended to mobile devices, which has significantly reduced users' ability to bypass restrictions.

One of RBC's sources in the media market stated that previously the blocking level was about 30% and was mainly on desktops. However, since December, the measures have become stricter, and now, in addition to stationary versions, access through mobile operators is actively blocked.

Earlier www1.ru reported that YouTube traffic had fallen by 10% in a few days.
