Современный Гринч: мошенники обманывают россиян с билетами на «Щелкунчика» и кремлевскую елку

Experts Warn of Increased Fraud Ahead of New Year's Events

Scammers have become active in deceiving Russians by offering tickets to popular New Year's events, such as the "Nutcracker" ballet and the Kremlin Christmas tree, at inflated prices or with dubious discounts.

The perpetrators spread offers through social networks, messengers, and even create fake websites where you can supposedly buy tickets to these events. They promise cheap tickets or participation in sweepstakes, but disappear after receiving the money.

Experts from the Laboratory for Strategic Development of Cybersecurity Products and the "Moshelovka" platform warn that the number of such fraudulent resources has increased significantly compared to last year. More than 200 new fake sites and accounts are recorded per day. Criminals also create phishing sites, full copies of official ones, and send out fake links that can steal users' personal data.

Fraud is often encountered with offers of "free" tickets or reduced prices, which attracts the attention of people who want to save money. But these offers turn into a loss of not only money, but also time, when deceived buyers discover that the tickets are fake. Experts recommend not trusting unknown sellers on the Internet and always checking the authenticity of the offer, especially if the price is significantly lower than usual.

To protect yourself from scammers, it is important to buy tickets only on official websites or at the box office of theaters and institutions. When buying online, you should carefully check the website address and read reviews. You should not follow suspicious links received from strangers, and carefully monitor prices - if the ticket price is too low, this may be a signal of fraud.
