The Russian Aerospace Forces regularly receive batches of "4++" generation multirole fighters Su-30SM2 from the Irkutsk Aviation Plant (part of UAC). In performing long-range interception and air superiority tasks, they are practically as good as the single-seat Su-35S.
In performing air superiority and long-range interception tasks, the Su-30SM2 is as good as the single-seat Su-35S. They are equipped with identical onboard radar systems based on the passive N035 Irbis-E phased array radar with a maximum microwave magnetron power of 20 kW, which ensures the detection of a target with an RCS of 1 m² at a distance of 300 km and 0.07 m² at a distance of about 130 km.
The total thrust of the AL-41F1-S engines in afterburner mode reaches 29,000 kgf, which provides the aircraft with almost identical thrust-to-weight ratio and angular velocity of steady-state turn.
At the same time, the speed of the Su-30SM is limited to 2200 km/h due to the large midsection in the sector of the two-seat cockpit.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that SAU "Gvozdika" and D-30 howitzers will start hitting the enemy even further, they received the latest shells with a range of 19.3 km.
