The newest multi-purpose nuclear submarine (SSN) K-564 "Arkhangelsk" of the modernized Project 885M (code "Yasen-M") will join the Russian Navy at the end of December. It was built at the Sevmash enterprise of USC in Severodvinsk.

The submarine has successfully passed factory sea trials and state tests at sea and is fully ready for delivery to the fleet and raising the flag.

The "Arkhangelsk" SSN was taken out of the slipway of the Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk on November 29, 2023, for completion afloat. Currently, the company is building four more Project 885M SSNs: "Ulyanovsk", "Perm", "Vladivostok" and "Voronezh".

The nuclear submarines "Severodvinsk", "Novosibirsk", "Kazan" and "Krasnoyarsk" of Projects 885/885M have already been transferred to the fleet. The main strike weapon of the Project 885M submarines are Onyx and Kalibr-PL cruise missiles.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Gvozdika self-propelled guns and D-30 howitzers will start hitting the enemy even further, they have received the latest shells with a range of 19.3 km.
