The Russian S-400 "Triumph" anti-aircraft missile system needs to be integrated into mixed network-centric anti-aircraft missile brigades by aggregating into a single information field through the "Polyana-D4M1" and "Baikal-1M" automated control systems.
According to military analyst Evgeny Damantsev, this measure is necessary to avoid interceptions of the same targets by different SAM systems and to ensure full situational awareness of SAM system crews about the tactical air and space situation through data exchange between combat control points.
Thanks to this, for example, the crew of the 9A317MA "Buk-M3A" self-propelled firing unit, located in a lowland, can receive information about the trajectory of the low-altitude SCALP-EG from the 92N6A illumination radar of the S-400 complex, located on the 40V6MD universal tower. Technically, such information can be used for over-the-horizon targeting of the 9M317MA anti-aircraft missile with the "Slanets" active radar seeker.
