Over the next five years, 160 billion rubles will be allocated to create a universal modular platform for passenger cars, according to Tigran Parsadanyan, head of the automotive industry and railway engineering department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
FSUE "NAMI" will be the developer of this platform. Leading automakers such as "AvtoVAZ", GAZ and "KamAZ" will also be involved. The main task will be to create a platform for cars of classes C, D and E.
This year, work began on creating a universal modular platform. According to the specialist, not only automobile plants, but also large companies involved in the development of automotive components showed interest in participating in the project.
Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of "Za Rulem" magazine, assessed the changes. He recalled that the amount of 87 billion rubles was originally discussed, which they planned to spend within three years.
Initially, it was about 87 billion over the next three years. And you probably remember: I said that it would take at least twice as much. Minimum! And this minimum has emerged.
Earlier it became known that the state corporation "Rostec" plans to build a factory jointly with a Chinese automobile company. Production may be located in the Moscow region or Siberia. Maxim Kadakov noted that the construction of a new car factory is a serious challenge, especially considering that old car factories are not fully loaded.
