The use of light-class drones forces the military to look for cheaper ways to neutralize them, in particular, by developing electromagnetic and laser weapons. The use of air defense, originally designed to combat aviation, has become a very expensive solution for combating drones.
Denis Fedutinov, an expert in the field of unmanned aviation, explained that laser systems and electromagnetic radiation are among the atypical means of countering UAVs.
The cost of their "shot" is measured in hundreds of rubles, which is several orders of magnitude lower than that of anti-aircraft missile systems.
He stressed that even light drones pose a serious threat to various military and civilian facilities. It is simply impossible to cover them all, so it is necessary to develop alternative means of combating them.
