Rosoboronexport will present a physical model of the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle with additional protection for the first time abroad during the Vietnam Defence Expo 2024 international exhibition in Hanoi (Vietnam).
The equipment to be shown at the exhibition has been modified taking into account the experience of combat use in modern conflicts.
The BMP-3 is equipped with lattice screens to protect the sides of the hull, and the upper hemisphere is covered with a structure called a "barbecue." This increases the vehicle's protection against FPV drones and modern cumulative ammunition.
The tracked BMP-3 is capable of delivering five infantrymen to the battlefield. The vehicle's arsenal includes a 30 mm automatic cannon, a 100 mm gun, and machine guns. The protection of the basic version of the vehicle is provided by aluminum armor.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces called for equipping the 48Ya6-K1 Podlet-K1 radar to detect heavy A-22 UAVs and SCALP-EG missiles.
