The "Russian Railways" (RZD) company plans to transport about 7 million passengers during the New Year holidays. For this purpose, more than 800 additional trains will be scheduled from December 27, 2024, to January 12, 2025, offering 5.6 million seats (3% more compared to last year). This was reported by the company's press service.
Trains will run:
- from Moscow to St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Petrozavodsk, Saransk, Penza, Kazan, Orenburg, Ufa, Ulyanovsk, Anapa, Adler, Novorossiysk, Rostov, Kotlas, Veliky Ustyug and other cities.
- from Rostov to Adler, Kislovodsk and other destinations.
- from St. Petersburg to Kazan, Kirov, Vologda, Adler, Anapa, Bryansk, Yaroslavl, Murmansk.
Peak departure dates will be December 27 and 28, as well as January 8 and 12. Special attention is paid to children's transportation.
From December 20 to January 12, it is planned to transport about 62.7 thousand children in organized groups (9.8% more than last year). 33 special children's trains will be organized for them. Departure will take place from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov, Yekaterinburg, Perm and Chelyabinsk.
Trains with new carriages will be used for transportation. Convenient boarding and disembarkation will be provided at the stations, as well as the shortest route for children to the waiting rooms and to road transport.
