The new Russian generation "4++" MiG-35 fighter differs from the MiG-29, on the basis of which it was created. This was announced by test pilot of the Mikoyan Design Bureau Dmitry Selivanov.
According to him, the aircraft has a new airborne radar station, sighting and navigation system, and some fragments of cabin equipment.
Director of the Mikoyan Design Bureau Alexey Matveev noted that the MiG-35 has a larger wing area. The engineers increased the number of suspension points on the wing from six to eight, installed a new engine with increased thrust and a new optical-location station.
When developing the MiG-35 fighter, the designers paid special attention to improving operational characteristics. Now composite materials make up to 30% of the fuselage covering.
MiG-29 is a Soviet and Russian fourth-generation fighter. It is designed to destroy air targets, mainly within the radar control field, as well as to engage ground targets using unguided weapons in conditions of visual visibility.
Earlier www1.ru reported that The Russian Aerospace Forces called for equipping the 48Ya6-K1 Podlet radarK1" to detect heavy A-22 UAVs and SCALP-EG missiles.
