The latest flat nozzle on the newest Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighter will provide it with improved combat capabilities. It performs more functions than an axisymmetric nozzle.
The fighter's chief designer, Mikhail Strelets, explained that the nozzle is a composite and metal structure specially developed at the United Engine Corporation and is used on the Su-57 to create new capabilities.
The flat nozzle, due to its characteristic shape, provides the fighter with low visibility in the radar range and can be used in a wide range of speeds and flight altitudes.
It allows you to create control moments in three planes, while maintaining all the capabilities for super-maneuverability of the fighter.
