At the end of December 2024, an increase in sales of new cars in Russia is expected. According to experts, the growth may range from 5 to 20% compared to November figures. This is reported by the analytical agency "Autostat".
In December, sales of new cars should grow by 5–10%, including thanks to special offers from dealers who need to meet their annual plan, and from manufacturers. In addition, another stage of increasing the recycling fee is expected in January, which will stimulate demand for new cars.
Andrey Terlyukevich, General Director of the AvtoSpetsCenter Group of Companies, predicts that December will show growth relative to November by approximately 20%. On the eve of the New Year holidays, sales can be expected, since товарные запасы are formed taking into account other sales volumes and other financing.
In his opinion, the weakening of the ruble will lead to an increase in the cost of new car deliveries. It is likely that the next indexation of the recycling fee will stimulate demand in December, but will definitely reduce sales in the first months of 2025.
But Nikolai Ivanov, head of the new car department at Rolf, believes that sales in December will decrease by 5–10% compared to November. Considering that December is a short month this year, everyone will go on New Year's holidays as early as the 29th.
I personally know a large number of people who are already planning to take days off or vacations from December 25 and go on holiday weekends to celebrate the New Year. This fact does not say anything about demand, but there will objectively be fewer working days.
Currently, at the beginning of December, we are seeing an increase in demand and attendance. In particular, the retail sector is seeing an increase of approximately 12% compared to November. This is also due to the fact that everyone is aware of the upcoming increase in the recycling fee from January 1. This may serve as an incentive for growth. The situation looks favorable so far.
As a reminder, in 2025 an increase in prices for Lada cars is expected. The cost will change and be adjusted in accordance with the level of inflation.
Earlier www1.ru reported that in the first 11 months of 2024, Russian automobile plants produced 967.4 thousand units of equipment. This is 31% more than in the same period last year.
