The Yantar Shipyard (PSZ) of the United Shipbuilding Corporation will transfer the Tushil frigate of Project 11356 to the Indian Navy. The official ceremony of transferring the first in a new series of four frigates is scheduled for December 9.
Frigates of Project 11356 have been developed since 1999. Three ships have already been built for the Russian Navy and six for the Indian Navy.
The main strike weapon of the frigates is one universal shipborne firing complex for eight missiles. In the domestic version of Project 11356, each frigate carries one universal shipborne firing complex for eight Kalibr-NK and/or Onyx missiles each.
Indian frigates will be armed with BrahMos anti-ship missiles of Russian-Indian production. Previously, PSZ and the Baltic Shipyard had already built six Project 11356 frigates for the Indian Navy.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec will significantly increase the supply of components for the MS-21 and SJ-100 engines.
