Crews of Russian combat helicopters effectively use light multi-purpose guided missiles "Product-305" on the front line, using them in strikes against various enemy targets, like a surgeon's scalpel.
Industrial Director of the cluster of weapons, ammunition and special chemistry of the Rostec State Corporation, Bekhan Ozdoev, said that the missile control channels cannot be suppressed with the help of electronic warfare, and so far no such case has been recorded.
Helicopter operators use this missile like a surgeon's scalpel. Due to the accuracy of the ammunition, they can choose exactly where to hit the target, as a result, the missile can fly to the militants even in the attic through the dormer window.
"Product-305" was developed by the Engineering Design Bureau (KBM, part of the High-Precision Complexes holding of Rostec), it is intended for use with Ka-52M and Mi-28NM attack helicopters.
The guaranteed range of its flight is up to 14.5 thousand meters, thanks to which helicopters manage to avoid a retaliatory attack by the enemy. At the same time, equipped with an optical thermal imaging homing head, the missile is capable of developing a speed of up to 230 m/s, the mass of the high-explosive fragmentation warhead is 25 kg.
