At the same time, the speed remains hypersonic, and a maneuvering missile with such flight parameters is impossible to shoot down.
A "Zircon" hit, even on a large ship, will almost certainly take it out of the battle. Even if the ship does not sink, it will cease to participate in the naval battle and will deal with its own survivability.
Therefore, such missiles are sometimes called anti-aircraft carrier missiles. They can hit even the most protected modern ships — aircraft carriers.
