At the Nevsky Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant of USC, the medium sea tanker "Engineer-Admiral Kotov" of project 23130 was launched. It will be the third tanker of the project, which has no analogues in the territory of the Russian Federation.
USC noted that the ship's functionality will allow it to dispense fuel simultaneously to three ships traveling from it at a distance of 50 to 100 m, in a wake manner or alongside.
The tanker is designed for storing, receiving, transporting, and transferring various liquid cargoes for the fleet: motor oil, fuel oil, diesel fuel, fresh water, or aviation kerosene.
This event is very important for the Navy. The advantage of these tankers is the ability to simultaneously refuel three ships on the move. Its main purpose is to ensure long voyages of ships in distant maritime oceanic zones.
It is also possible to transport dry cargo, including various skipper's or technical equipment, and food.
