CERN conducts research in the field of particle physics

The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) has decided to terminate cooperation with scientific institutions from Russia and Belarus. The termination of relations will most strongly affect cooperation with research institutes, while cooperation with CERN under other agreements will continue.

The CERN Council previously decided not to extend the agreements in 2024, which will terminate scientific cooperation with Russia and Belarus. Representatives of the European Organization for Nuclear Research have not ruled out that this decision could change if the political situation changes.

CERN is one of the world's leading research organizations conducting research in the field of particle physics. It was founded in 1954 and now includes 23 member states and 10 associate members.
