The Soviet Su-25 "Grach" bomber is capable of significantly increasing its combat power. This was reported by experts from the Telegram channel @voenacher.
They noted that it is necessary to modernize the FAB-100 aerial bomb or the 130-kg mine from "Tulpan" for the aircraft, equipping them with homing heads, aerodynamic rudders, and a rocket booster.
And the corrected 240-mm "Smelchak" mine already has a laser seeker, which makes it a high-precision projectile. Add aerodynamic control surfaces there, which will also help increase the range, and use it as a platform for delivering not a mortar, but dropping it from a Su-25.
In addition to aerial bombs, there are also unguided aviation rockets in 80-mm and 122-mm calibers. The first already has a version with a laser seeker, and such a modification suggests itself for a larger caliber, the experts noted.
A few words about a missile like the LMUR. The presence of its version in the dimensions of the Kh-25 under the wing of the Su-25 / T / 39 (necessarily a two-seater, a navigator-operator is needed to use such ammunition) would allow hitting even moving targets at a range of 30-35 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Aeroflot will be the first in Russia to take aircraft on "wet" lease.
