The Russian Aerospace Forces need to form a full-fledged fighter aviation regiment of Su-30SM1/2 or Su-35S multirole fighters, patrolling aircraft- and missile-hazardous directions on a rotational basis, using onboard N011M "Bars-R" and N035 "Irbis-E" radars. This was stated by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
According to him, such a regime completely eliminates the temporary "windows" of absence of fighter aviation patrolling, during which MiG-29A and Su-27 crews of the enemy use low-observable AASM-250 HAMMER guided active-rocket bombs, AGM-88B/D Block 3/6 anti-radar missiles, and JDAM-ER and GBU-39/B gliding guided bombs from the low-altitude cabriering mode.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Aeroflot will be the first in Russia to take aircraft on "wet" lease.
