The Russian Classification Society (RCS) has issued a positive conclusion on the oldest operating paddle steamer in Russia, "N.V. Gogol". Specialists of the Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center (part of USC) launched the ship in Severodvinsk.
The tourist and excursion ship underwent a scheduled inspection on a solid foundation for presentation to the RCS. During the inspection, an assessment was made of the condition of the underwater part of the ship's hull, the paddle drive, and the steering gear, which will allow the "N.V. Gogol" to begin navigation next year.
During the off-season, the ship will be repaired at the berth of the Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center.
The paddle steamer "N.V. Gogol" was built in 1911 at the Sormovo shipyard in Nizhny Novgorod. Since 1972, it has been serviced by Zvezdochka specialists.
