The first image of the engine for the new LADA Iskra car has appeared on the Internet. According to insiders, the photo shows an 8-valve gasoline engine. According to experts, this is a modification of the 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 90 hp, which is already used on LADA Granta models.
The new product will be offered with two engine options with a volume of 1.6 liters - 8- and 16-valve versions. Basic LADA Iskra configurations will be equipped with a less powerful 8-valve engine, and more expensive options will receive a 16-valve engine. According to insiders from the Avtograd News public page, the 8-valve unit will work in tandem with a VAZ 5-speed manual gearbox. A 6-speed manual transmission or a WLY CVT18 variator are provided for a more powerful 16-valve engine.
AvtoVAZ officially announced that the production of LADA Iskra will begin in the spring of 2025. Exact prices for the new product will be announced closer to the start of sales.
