Russia continues to work on putting the newest Sarmat silo-based missile system on combat duty. This was reported in an article by the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Sergei Karakaev.
He noted that the fifth-generation Avangard and Yars missile systems have already been introduced into the Strategic Missile Forces.

The commander added that the implementation of the state program made it possible to ensure a steady pace of rearmament of missile regiments. In total, the combat composition of the Strategic Missile Forces already has over 88% of modern missile technology samples.
The Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile was developed at the V. P. Makeev State Rocket Center (part of Roscosmos), the manufacturer is the Krasmash plant (part of Roscosmos).
The RS-28 Sarmat ICBM is capable of delivering a multiple warhead weighing up to 10 tons to any point in the world, both through the South and North Poles.
